President's Message

Dear FVMA Membership:

I am very excited for the next two years as President of the Florida Venue Managers Association.  At the 2019 Annual Meeting, the membership voted to officially change the name of the association and your board and staff are actively working to finalize the transition from FFMA to FVMA.

The Florida Venue Managers Association is unique in that we are the only state-level venue management organization in the country.  Our founders felt this type of organization was necessary due to the volume of sport, entertainment and convention facilities in the state as well as the unique issues we all face.   Over 30 years later, I still feel this holds true and that we are better able to do our jobs with a strong network of peers and a collective voice.  To this end, if you have a neighboring facility that is not involved in FVMA, please encourage them to join.  We would love to have representatives from all venues in Florida to better serve and represent the state industry as a whole.

Moving forward, we are working on not only growing the association, but increasing member value.  Our annual conference and operations seminars have been great successes over the years and our lobbyist provides solid representation in Tallahassee.  We are adding in a webinar series in 2019 as an added benefit for our members.  If you have topics of interest, please share them with us!

If there is anything that I can do for you as we move forward, please do not hesitate to reach out.  Thank you all for your support and I look forward to seeing you at the annual conference in June.
